The elderly have carried the weight of the world and saw the current generation through two world wars, the invention of the car, technology, space flight, and more. We have a lot to learn from our elders, for they can give us the vast experience from all of their errors.
Action for Today
Do something for the elderly. Help someone clean a house, visit a relative or neighbor, take someone to the store or volunteer to go to a convalescent home with an Extraordinary Minister.
For information to go with an Extraordinary Minister call Tom Siciliano at 818-727-1782 or 818-631-3694.
Would you like to get even more involved? OASIS is a program to provide assistance for the elderly. Call (818) 340-5100 for training and more information.
What is OASIS?
The purpose of OASIS is to keep older adults in their homes and connected to the community.
Who receives services?
Any older adult 65 years and older is eligible. Volunteers are matched on an as needed basis but most visit their client regularly, usually once a week.
