It is important that we spend time with the blessed sacrament. It is quiet time with the Lord. It is time for prayer and time for listening. In Matthew 26:40 Jesus scorns the Apostles because they fell asleep and could not stay awake with him for only one hour. Can you give this hour to Him?
Today's action on this second day of Lent is to pray. There are many forms of prayer as we discussed. Pick one and practice it all of through Lent. If you are a beginner in prayer it can be difficult at first. You may feel uncomfortable. Try using a scripted prayer until you are comfortable praying on your own, or just use a simple method to praise God and thank Him for all you have. Pray for those who have died, are sick, or are in need of God's love. Ask God what you can do for him today, and pause to listen. And there you have it, a prayer! Here is a simple video to help you think of all of the blessings God brings into your life. Today we celebrate Ash Wednesday! There are are a multitude of masses scheduled throughout the day.
